At Datasmoothie we have partnered up with DeltaPoll to visualise some polling results for the UK general election, which takes place in a few days time. To read the analysis, see their blog post “General Election 2019: The Final Week”.

Below is an interactive chart that shows the result of the poll. Click on “Compare with” to see what the results look like across age groups, gender, how people voted in the last election and click on the other boxes to show only the results for a particular group, like leavers or remainers.

Mind the age gap

Looking at voting intentions across different age groups shows how dominant Labour are among the youngest age group. The oldest group however, strongly prefers the Conservatives.

Labour support is strong with the 18–24 year olds, and support for the Conservatives grows with older respondents.

Should I stay or should I go?

If you click on the filter labeled GE 2017 you can see how respondents answered according to how they said they voted in the last elections. Conservative voters are the most loyal, while the Liberal Democrats are struggling to hold on to their base.

Embed the chart yourself

The above chart can easily be embedded in any website that supports iframes.
